TNA
1. Introduction
of the band for people who do not know you: influences, sort
of music, where
you come from, former bands...
TNA took the Melody of Dokken, Ratt, Motley, Def
Lepperd,ect and combined it
with the rough edge of Skid Row and other great
bands to form there hard but melodic style...
Im Danny Tore (Drummer)
I've Played in some various bands that didn't pan out before forming TNA
with Sean Tarr...
Sean Played in some other projects as well, until settling
on TNA as the right project. Sean is also an accomplished session studio
player and has done a ton of studio work on Various Albums... Mike
McManomon Played in a Local Band before hooking up with us. Phil was without a
doubt the logicigal choice for the bass slot.
Im Mike
McManoman and Im lead vocalist and frontman. I am a product of varied musical
taste. I think my mothers love for music had quite an influence on me and my
brother and sister growing up. I hate Country and opera. I hate musicals and
MOST of broad way. I can respect it, I just do NOT enjoy it.the OTHER GUYS IN
THE BAND ARE MORE ROOTED in the style of music we perform. I came from around
back where my taste are more underground. I think that's how I bring a harder
edge to the music that we perform. I LOVE this genre of music we perform and I
love alot of the new stuff that has come out in recent
years.
2. What
do you think of the music trends in the US andwhere would you say
you fit
in. What differences do you notice at comparing USand Europe trends,
if any.
DANNY :
TNA hits most markets due to the fact that singer Mike McManonmon and
myself have a Heavier Style, while Sean Tarr (Guitars) and Phil
Pacheco(Bass) have more of the Dokken, Ratt style to their writing.
so I
guess we cover most basis....HAHA
3. How did you come up with the
name of TNA.
DANNY : While sitting in a
studio back ... and throwing around some of the most
ridicules names.. as we got ready to give up on the
naming.. someone yells out TNA and out of lack for a better name,
and a great
visual, we decided to stay with it ... and by the way.. it's TNA not
T&A... do ya know
the difference ?... Hahaha @#$%^&*() you figure it
out!!!!
Mike: Well, I like to
think you can also call it T.otal N.oise A.ddiction. You can look at it that
way, or the other way, both ways work!
Besides, the other guys put it together...I tried to stop
them, but they are bigger then me.
4.
Point out some topics behind your lyrics.
DANNY : hmmm well I guess you can say TNA lol haha!!! Most songs were
written from experiences that we went thru while on the road, and just playing
shows.... hmmmm like I said... TNA !!! HA HA HA
(if you listen closely,
you may be able to relive some of those past days..) Not much has changed..
THANK GOD! LOL
We do
get serious on some of our material as you can hear in WHERE'S THE LOVE,
FALLING DOWN and CANT WAIT FOREVER. Very personal stuff I think that people can
relate to.Ya know what I mean? I wouldn't say Let Me Down Easy is your typical
80's ballad.
Mike: All the songs
are a product of our environment. All the guys got involved with the writing
process. in the end it is usually all about EMOTIONS. I never met a song writer
who wasn't in touch with them. I think that's very important when trying to
connect with your audience. In the end music is a product of raw emotions.
5.
What is first in your songs, title or lyrics?
DANNY : I would have to say both. It
depends on what was stuck in our heads first ...
in a lot of cases, Sean
would have a melody, and Mike would start singing! or
Phil would come up
with something and we would all rip it apart to make a
totally new song...
Rung on that later, was a totally different song in the
beginning!
looking back. Thank God we changed it ... all and all most of the
songs were written by Sean and Phil.
what a great writing
team...
Mike: Really depends,
sometimes its both. I think you will find that with alot of
writers.
6. Inspiration or technic in
songwriting? Do you think it is something that
you acquire with time or
you´ve been born with.
DANNY : I believe
that it is something that is within..although as you mature, so
does your
writing..
7.
Can you tell us a few words about the
cover?
DANNY : Lets just say we would all
like to have our finger on that Trigger...
!! Ha Ha
Mike: Very well done! The guy that did the
artwork did an amazing job! Very clever,
it will definitely make you do a double take when you open
it
8. How is the
recording of the new material going; Where have you recorded and
why? Have
you used the same Studios for it? When do you think it will be
released?.
DANNY : We have recorded the music in a few
different studios.. it depended
where we
thought we could capture the best sound.. some of
the music sounds like you
would expect good old 80's and 90's music to sound
like..
( we wanted to capture what we had back in the day.. and also give a
new
modern sound as well so we bounced back and forth with the music.. )
the new written stuff. was produced by Les Warner, ( ex cult Drummer)
I
have to say that's my favorite, since he knew how to make the drums
slammin!! All I can say is that Finger on the Trigger will be out sooner
then you
think, and we had so much fun, we are already writing for our next
release..
when will that be.. hmmmmm lets just get this one out first.. you
may just
have to hear the new stuff live before we release the second one
!!! HAHA.
We will be doing some
shows soon, possibly with one or two other KIVEL acts
Like ADRIANGALE or
RAIN.Im sure you will be one of the first to know.
Mike: The album is
due June 26. As for new material, expect some of the same but
BETTER!
